HISTORY, of the Gardens of the old Turia river bed
On 14 October 1957, what is known as the Great Flood of Valencia occurred in the city of Valencia, Spain, in the basin of the River Turia as it flows through the city of Valencia, causing at least 81 deaths and extensive material damage.
In the mid-1970s the old riverbed was ceded to the city of Valencia to be declared a green zone. Around 6.5 kilometres of green zones from the headwaters to the City of Sciences (a recommendable walk of around an hour, do you dare?
